How to find duplicate invoices in Stripe
Stripe invoice records are clean, but duplicate billing can still hide behind repeated invoice numbers, close dates, similar customer names, or records that also appear in another payment tool.
Start with the highest-signal checks
- Look for the same invoice number and customer on more than one record.
- Compare same-amount invoices issued within a short time window.
- Check whether the same charge also appears in PayPal or a CSV export.
- Review recurring invoices that arrive earlier than the usual billing cycle.
