The deadlines, in one glance
- Belgium: mandatory for B2B since January 2026. Official source (einvoice.belgium.be)
- France: every business must be able to receive e-invoices from September 2026. Small companies must issue them from September 2027. Official source (service-public.gouv.fr)
- Germany: receiving is already mandatory. Issuing becomes mandatory January 2027 for companies above 800k EUR turnover and January 2028 for everyone. Official source (BMF E-Rechnung FAQ)
- US: no law yet, but large buyers and federal agencies already require e-invoices from suppliers. Official source (GSA electronic invoicing)
Honest answers
Is emailing this file really legal? In Germany, yes. The law requires a compliant EN 16931 file, not a special network. Email is an explicitly accepted channel.
What about France and Belgium? France routes domestic B2B invoices through certified platforms and Belgium uses the Peppol network. This studio does not replace those, but the files it creates follow the same EN 16931 standard those systems build on.
Do you keep my data? No. The invoice is generated in memory and discarded after your download.
